Fall Semester Recap

We started the semester with Spirit Week in preparation for formal recruitment. Some of our favorite themes of the week were Mercer Spirit Day where we had the pleasure of meeting so many new potential new members at the Fraternity Sorority Picnic and Hometown Throwdown which we captured in a 50 states TikTok. Later, we got to welcome over 30 new members into our sorority, and we were smiling from ear to ear on Bid Day with our theme: “Smile You’re an ADPi.”

Our first official event of the semester with our new Alphas was also our first Alumnae Luncheon. Our former Alumnae Engagement specialist, Jordan Darby, worked closely with the Macon alumnae association to host a luncheon where we celebrated everything that Alpha Delta Pi brings to our lives both during our time in college and after. We heard from many alumnae whose friendships are just as strong today as they were during college.

We then had a country club themed social for sisters only as our first social event of the semester. Everyone had a blast at a local restaurant, Yollah, which has been gracious enough to host some of our favorite events. Yollah hosted the 2021 Wig Party and Semi-Formal. We danced and sang the night away while eating delicious food and getting to know all the new members of our sorority.

The semester flew by with one weekend containing Parent’s Weekend, Semi-Formal, and Sisterhood Retreat. Semi-Formal was so much fun at Macon Bear Company where everyone dressed up in their best semi-formal attire with wacky shoes to match. For Parent’s Weekend we had a wonderful tailgate cookout before bringing all the parents to cheer on our favorite Mercer Bear’s football team for their game against Western Carolina. After the Bear’s win, we celebrated sisterhood at Lane Southern Orchards. We spent Sunday a-peach-iating all of the sisters that make our sisterhood unique and wonderful with peach themed games, snacks, and crafts.

Closing out the semester we finally initiated the newest members of our sisterhood by taking part in all of the traditional initiation week events including Black Diamond and Blue and White Day at some our most beloved places in Macon. After initiation on Friday, we had a quick turn around for Mallard on Saturday with our new Delta members. We spent the evening at The Allman Brother’s Museum in our best camo outfits dancing and learning about the history of Macon music.
